  1. Sungent belongs to the phenylpyrazole group of insecticides.
  2. Sungent is recommended for Paddy, Wheat, and Sugarcane crops to control pests like stem borers, leaf folders, termites, and borers.
  3. Sungent disrupts the insect nervous system by blocking GABA-gated chloride channels, causing hyperexcitation of insect nerves and muscles.
  4. Sungent is highly systemic and can be absorbed by roots as well as leaves. It moves acropetally through the xylem, killing hidden borers inside the stem.
  5. Sungent is applied after transplanting paddy or at early stages on other crops as a root application.
